Population by region

Hub calculation: sum of the 2023 population of the 553 communes in the geographic reference (version 1.0.0), by region. Data source: ANSD, directory of localities RGPH-5 2023, checked on 28 September 2026.

Key point: in 2024, Senegal is the first WAEMU country by e-money transaction volume. Mobile payment is a reasonable default choice.
