Protect your trademark (ASPIT and OAPI)
In Senegal, a trademark is registered with OAPI, the office shared by 17 states. ASPIT acts as the national liaison structure in Dakar.
Steps
Run a prior-art search to check no similar mark exists (recommended).
List the goods and services covered, using the Nice classification classes.
File at ASPIT (104, rue Carnot, Dakar), at OAPI headquarters, online or through an agent.
Attach proof of fee payment; fees depend on the number of classes.
OAPI examines the application, publishes it, then opens an opposition period.
