Publisher of 221 and 221 Pay, intellectual property, content licences, personal data and content reporting.

1. Publisher

The 221 hub, available at 221.orvlabs.com, and the 221 Pay payment service, whose dashboard is available at pay.orvlabs.com, are published by Orvene Labs Technologies.

2. Editorial responsibility

Orvene Labs Technologies is editorially responsible for the content published on the site, except for content provided by third parties, which remains the responsibility of its authors, and datasets, which reproduce identified sources. Published information is provided for guidance and is neither legal, tax or financial advice nor an official document. The rules for using the site, the API and 221 Pay are set out in the terms of use.

3. Nature of the 221 Pay service

221 Pay is a technical service for accepting mobile money payments. Orvene Labs Technologies is not a bank, a payment institution or an electronic money institution. Payment operations are executed by licensed partner institutions and operators. The applicable terms are in Part II of the terms of use and an overview of the service is on the 221 Pay page.

4. Intellectual property and trademarks

The names 221 and 221 Pay, the related logos, the visual identity, texts, interfaces, software and documentation of the site are the property of Orvene Labs Technologies or its licensors. Any reproduction, representation, adaptation or use, in whole or in part, without prior written authorisation is prohibited, except within the limits provided by law or by an express licence, in particular that of the datasets and of SDKs published under an open source licence.

Third-party names, trademarks and logos mentioned on the site, including those of public bodies, authorities and mobile money operators, belong to their respective owners. They are used solely to refer to these organisations or their services.

5. Independence

221 is not affiliated with any public body, authority or company named on the site, including ANSD, ARTP, CDP, APIX, BCEAO, Wave or Orange. The mention of an organisation implies no partnership, approval or recommendation on its part.

6. Content licences

  • Datasets: each dataset states its source and licence, which apply to any reuse. See Licences and sources.
  • Social network icons: Font Awesome Free, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0).
  • Software and SDKs: components published under an open source licence are governed by the licence stated in their repository.

7. Personal data

The processing of personal data, its purposes, retention periods and the rights of data subjects are described in the privacy policy, drawn up in accordance with Law No. 2008-12 of 25 January 2008 on the protection of personal data.

8. Reporting content

Any error in a dataset, a directory entry or a procedure can be reported from the Report an error page.

Any manifestly unlawful content, any infringement of an intellectual property right and any fraudulent use of 221 Pay, including a misleading payment page, is reported to [email protected], stating the address of the page concerned, a description of the content, the reasons why it should be removed and the contact details of the person reporting it. Orvene Labs Technologies reviews each report diligently and may remove or disable access to the content concerned. An abusive or knowingly inaccurate report may engage the liability of its author.

The site may contain links to third-party sites, including the official sources of the data. Orvene Labs Technologies does not control these sites and is not responsible for their content or their personal data practices.

10. Governing law

This legal notice is governed by Senegalese law. It is written in French and translated into English; in the event of a discrepancy, the French version prevails.
